Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 38-year old village head of Gidan Abba in Bodinga local government area of Sokoto state, Abubakar Ibrahim with 3kgs of cannabis sativa and 4,000 tablets of exol-5. The Cross River Police Command has confirmed that one of its personnel, Sgt. Peter Ikwen was killed on Saturday by terrorists at Edgerton Street, Calabar. The Police spokesperson in the state, SP Irene Ugbo confirmed the incident in a telephone interview. “I have just gathered that a police sergeant was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the early hours of today (Saturday) and his rifle was taken away by the assailants,” she said.
