A scientist with the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), Dr Sylvester Oikeh has described biotechnology as strong investment for African farmers. Speaking at a one-day interactive session with Editors in Lagos on 7 August, said global gains show that for each dollar invested in biotech crop seeds, more than an approximate $3.5 was gained. The Kebbi Police Command, has arrested Aliyu Umar, father of the 12-year-old boy chained for two years in an animal stall in Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi local government. The British economy is in recession after contracting a record 20.4 per cent in the second quarter as the coronavirus crisis took hold, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Wednesday. The quarterly contraction in the April-to-June period was the largest since 1955 when the agency began to keep quarterly records.
