According to the World Index on its Twitter handle @theworldindex, the U.S. has so far recorded 185,901 to become the country with highest recorded deaths, followed by Brazil, which has recorded 119,594 deaths. The Oyo Police Command have arrested a security guard, Daniel Amanda, for allegedly raping a stranded housewife. The 23-year old woman, reportedly returned to Ibadan, at night from Lagos but could not get a vehicle to take her home because of COVID-19-related curfew. The security guard approached her while pacing around in search of where to pass the night and, having heard of her plight, offered to take her to his home to sleep till dawn. Gunmen have abducted a female paediatrician with the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) of Cross River, Dr Vivien Otu. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Friday night reported 160 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of infections now stands at 53,477. The Centre through its Twitter handle @NCDCGov, said Plateau recorded 44 cases, while Lagos followed with 27 cases.
