No fewer than 1,000 women in Kuje Area Council, FCT, benefited from an empowerment programme organized by the women wing of the City Boy Movement (CBM).

The group also reaffirmed support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu during the large-scale grassroots mobilization effort.

The initiative was organized by the FCT chapter of the CBM women wing under the Office of the National Coordinator for Women Affairs.

The programme aimed to boost women’s economic activities, promote grassroots mobilization, and strengthen community participation in governance.

In a statement on Monday, the National Coordinator for Women Affairs, Ummusalma Rabiu, described women’s empowerment as vital for national development and poverty reduction.

Rabiu emphasized that women remain key stakeholders in voter education, democratic participation, grassroots mobilization, and national development.

The FCT Women Affairs Coordinator, Dr. Ene Adugba, said the programme supported vulnerable and enterprising women economically.

Adugba also noted that the initiative raised awareness about the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

She highlighted ongoing reforms and strategic interventions aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.

She cited social intervention programmes, food security initiatives, youth and women empowerment, and improved investment opportunities.

The group highlighted achievements including increased investments in transportation, expansion of student loan programmes, and support for agriculture.

It also mentioned improved security coordination and policies aimed at job creation and enterprise development.

Beneficiaries received empowerment items and support packages to strengthen small businesses, improve household income, and encourage self-reliance.

Adugba reaffirmed the FCT women wing’s commitment to mobilizing support for Tinubu’s re-election.

She emphasized the importance of continuity in governance and the sustained implementation of ongoing reforms across key sectors.

According to the group, continuity would help consolidate gains in infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, youth development, and economic revitalization.

The organization urged women, youths, and other stakeholders to support initiatives promoting peace, unity, democratic participation, and national development.
