The Police Command in Anambra on Saturday confirmed the killing of its two operatives and one civilian car tracker by criminals in Amukabra Achalla Awka North local government area of the state. The command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement on in Awka said the trio was killed after the hoodlums kidnapped them while on a mission to recover a stolen vehicle. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday in Abuja, visited a hospital to seek medical attention for leg pain. Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the vice president, disclosed this in a post on his verified Twitter handle.  Akande said the vice president had recurring leg pain probably sustained while playing squash. “VP Osinbajo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash. “His doctors will give an update of the treatment later today,” he said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced uploading of results for the Saturday governorship election in Osun into the commission’s results viewing portal. The upload of election results started shortly after the close of voting and sorting of votes in some polling units across the state. Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has said that he is sure of winning the governorship election, as he cast his vote at Unit 2, Ward 1, LA Primary School, Popo, Iragbiji in Boripe local government area.
