As the collation results begins, the Osun state candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke is taking the lead in the ongoing governorship election. According to the results so far posted on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeleke has polled 67,892 votes while the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 56,915 votes. From the results therefore Adeleke is leading with over 10,000 votes as counting of votes continues. There are a total of 1,955,657 registered voters in the election which held across 3,763 polling units.
