The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the African Action Congress (AAC) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are yet to submit any nomination for 2023 state elections, with just three days to the deadline for the submission of nomination. Ex-militant leader Reuben Wilson on Tuesday berated the Senate Committee on Public Accounts over its threat to issue a warrant of arrest against the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Col. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Ozonnia Ojielo of Nigeria as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Rwanda, with the host Government’s approval. The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) says Nigeria’s crude oil production increased to an average of 1.238 million barrels per day (bpd) in June 2022. OPEC made this known in its Oil Market Report for July 2022 on Tuesday in Lagos. Fresh protests are under way in Sri Lanka demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
