Lawan-Dare was re-elected with 422 votes in the re-run primary ordered by a Federal High Court in Gusau. Nigerian government has selected Ethiopian Airlines (ET) Consortium as preferred bidder for Nigeria Air. The Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja on Friday. According to him, Ethiopian Airlines scored 89 per cent out of 100 on technical bid and 15 out 20 on financial bid. The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), has shared N673.137 billion to the three tiers of government as federation allocation for August. This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Phil Abiamuwe-Mowete, the Director (Information/Press) on Friday. The federal government received N259.641 billion, the states received N222.949 billion, and the Local Government Councils got N164.247 billion. The N673.137 billion was inclusive of Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), and an Augmentation of Non Oil Excess Revenue. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has approached the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, asking it to set aside the judgement of the National Industrial Court (NIC) that ordered to call off its over seven-month old strike action.
