The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) at the ward level in Igboeze North local government area of Enugu state, following the attack on its officials in the area. Nigeria has improved on its global ranking in cyber security, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, has said. Pantami made this known on the sideline of the Stakeholder’s Consultative Forum on Emerging Technologies organised by Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) and Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in Lagos. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says the troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have eliminated 42 Boko Haram insurgents in the past two weeks in the North-East. The Defence Headquarters says troops of Operation Delta Safe a fortnight ago discovered and destroyed 109 illegal refining sites and arrested 24 economic saboteurs in the South-South region. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, said this while briefing newsmen on the operations of the armed forces on Thursday in Abuja. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), says it has initiated Resilience and Social Cohesion programme to support 500,000 people in Borno and Yobe states. The three-year programme is being implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) and German government.
