The Kaduna state government, said on Monday that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aerial patrols have targeted bandits’ locations and several bandits were neutralized, camps destroyed and some of their hostages escaped. The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Kaduna. Aruwan said personnel of the Nigerian Air Force have conducted aerial patrols over identified bandit enclaves across flash points in the state. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the reopening of the domestic runway of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos to flight operations. The Security Watch African Initiative (SWAI) has called for intelligence sharing and synergy amongst sub-regional bodies on the continent to check insecurity in African countries. The Bill and Melinda Foundation says its new commitment of $1.4 billion to Africa, including Nigeria is to spur the region-led innovation to build a pipeline of climate-smart agriculture projects for smallholder farmers.
