The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday, donated office furniture to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto State Command. Presenting the items, the CBN Branch Controller in Sokoto state, Mr Dahiru Usman said the gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the bank. The Police Command in Lagos State has arrested six Bureau de Change operators for allegedly kidnapping an eight-year-old child. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest in his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday. Hundeyin said that the suspects conspired and kidnapped the child of their colleague. “The child, whose hands and feet were bound in a sack was released three days later. “Preliminary investigation reveals that all the suspects are fellow BDC operators in the same business district of Lagos.” he said. The police in Imo have called for calm over reported killing of the traditional ruler of Ubudi Agwa community, Oguta local government, Dr Ignatius Asor and three others by bandits. Ivory Coast on Tuesday announced it will gradually withdraw its contribution of military and police from a United Nations (UN) peacekeeping force in Mali, according to a letter by its Ambassador to the UN. The latter came after Bamako detained 46 of its soldiers in July. Mali accused the soldiers of being mercenaries. Ivory Coast said they were part of a security and logistics contingent working under the peacekeeping mission and has made repeated pleas for their release. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday accused Russia of using its gas as a weapon, and destroying it instead of selling it. Von der Leyen made the accusation at the G20 summit as he responded to Western sanctions against its invasion of Ukraine, charged.
