An international operation, coordinated jointly by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the international police organization (INTERPOL), has disrupted trafficking networks that supply terrorist groups across West Africa and the Sahel, the UN agency reported on Monday from Abidjan. Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have again rescued 10 kidnap victims from bandits at Yenyewa village in Zamfara following a tip-off. The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. Enenche said the troops had on Dec. 20 responded to a distress call on bandits’ activities in the area and engaged them accordingly. House of Representatives is set to investigate the N19.2 billion railway rehabilitation contract awarded to Eser Contracting Industry Company Incorporated in March 2011. The resolution followed the unanimous adoption of a motion filed by the Minority Leader, Rep. Ndudi Elumelu (PDP-Delta) at the plenary session on Monday. The Federal government has awarded two road projects to Kebbi, out of five projects proposed under COVID-19 intervention special programme, according to Rilwanu Usman, Engineer-in-charge for the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in the state. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Osun said two people were killed in a motor accident that occurred on Ile-Ife-Gbogan highway.
