The impeachment, which initially included the Deputy majority leader, Binta Mamman was reversed because she was in isolation, recovering from a coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. According to the lawmakers, the majority leader’s impeachment was because he absented himself from the house plenary when the report of the 2021 estimates was presented. As the second wave of COVID-19 rages, Nigeria’s total of infected persons has risen to 80,922 with the announcement by the Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, of 1,133 new infections on Wednesday. NCDC made this known via its verified website. So far, more than 903,800 samples have been tested by the public health agency since the first confirmed case in February.
