Morocco has secured the acquisition of 65 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from two suppliers, Health Minister, Khalid Ait Taleb, announced this during the weekly cabinet meeting. The North African country is aiming for mass vaccination of 25 million people or 80 per cent of its total population. The two vaccines secured by Morocco are developed by China’s Sinopharm and Britain’s Oxford University and AstraZeneca, the minister said. Alhaji Musa Sale Kwankwaso, father of former Kano State Governor, Rabi’u Musa-Kwankwaso, and District Head of Madobi in the northwestern state, is dead. A statement by Shaifullahi Hassan, media aide to the former governor, indicated that the District Head died in the early hours of Friday. He was aged 93. The Tunisian Coast Guard on Thursday recovered 20 bodies of illegal migrants whose boat capsized off Sfax port in central Tunisia, according to a Ministry of Defence spokesman. He said that five migrants were rescued by National Guard units assisted by fishing boats that were on the scene. Contacted by PANA, the National Guard spokesman said that all the migrants were sub-Saharan nationals who were heading to the Italian coast, close to Tunisia.
