Senator Aliyu Wamakko has embarked on the construction of nine solar-powered boreholes for some communities in his constituency. A statement by his spokesperson, Hassan Sanyinnawal made available to ASHENEWS on Thursday said seven of the projects were completed and the remaining two at various stages of completion. One hundred people have died in less than a month as a result of cholera outbreak in 19 out of the 27 Local Government Areas of Jigawa, the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Health, Dr Salisu Mu’azu, has said. Mua’zu, who could not immediately provide a breakdown of those affected in each of the local governments, however, confirmed the incidence in Dutse on Wednesday. The federal government says it has successfully completed 533 water projects including 38 irrigation, 458 water supply schemes and 37 dams to boost food production and ensure potable water to citizens. The federal government says it plans to fully digitise its processes, particularly in the civil service and other government institutions by 2026. Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isah Pantami disclosed this on Thursday, when he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean Government for a 13 million dollars e-governance initiative. The initiative, sponsored by the Korean government, is the second phase of e-governance support to Nigeria and would be completed by 2026. Two persons were fear dead as suspected armed robbers on Thursday attacked two generation banks in Iree, Boripe local government area of Osun. The robbers arrived at the two banks, in the same location at 3:50 p.m and operated for about 30 minutes.
