APC maintains lead as INEC announces results from 17 LGA’s in Niger

ASHENEWS reports that the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, Umar Mohammed Bago is currently leading in 13 out of the 17 local government areas announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Elections were held across all of the 25 local government areas in Niger State.

The local government areas where results were announced include Agaie, Bida, Bosso, Chanchaga, Gurara, Katcha, Kontagora, Lapai, Magama, Paikoro, Rafi, Suleja, Tafa, Edati, Gbako, Lavun, and Munya local government areas of Niger State.

The APC’s Gubernatorial candidate is followed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isah Liman Kantigi who has so far been announced as the winner in four other local government areas.

These LGAs include Edati, Gbako, Lavun, and Munya local government areas of Niger State.

ASHENEWS further reports that the collation exercise has gone on recess but has been scheduled to resume by 09: 00 pm.

This media platform also reported that Bago was earlier declared the winner in eight local government areas on Sunday morning.
