The police reported on Thursday that unruly behavior by a drunken passenger caused an aircraft heading to Spain to make an unscheduled stop in Germany.
The flight from Berlin to Alicante, Spain, was diverted to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport after the passenger’s disruptive behavior, police said.
The 43-year-old man became aggressive after takeoff, harassing fellow passengers in an unacceptable manner, according to a police statement. He also vomited on the plane. As a result, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing to remove him from the aircraft.

The man was taken into custody by police waiting on the tarmac. Luggage was unloaded to access his bags, a police spokesman said.
The Ryanair flight was able to continue its journey to Spain afterward.
The man faces charges of breaching the Aviation Security Act. The incident occurred on Wednesday.
It is unclear whether he traveled home or booked a new flight. The costs incurred by the airline due to the detour and whether the man is liable remain unknown.
