2023 guber polls: APC makes early lead in Niger

ASHENEWS reports that the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, Umar Mohammed Bago made an early lead in the governorship election in the state.

This is according to results presented on Sunday morning by Collation Officers from eight out of the 25 local government areas in Niger State.

The collation exercise started at 10:00 am at the Head Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Minna, Niger State.

The APC won in the Tafa, Gurara, Paikoro, Bosso, Suleja, and Katcha local government areas of Niger State.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in the Munya and Edati local government areas of the state.

So far, Bago has tallied 126,856 while the PDP got 118,432 votes.

Bago is contesting alongside Isah Liman Kantigi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The collation exercise which was on recess for an hour is expected to resume by 01:00 pm.
