The Kaduna State Pilgrims Agency, on Thursday, began the training and enlightenment programs for prospective pilgrims for the 2023 Hajj.
The Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, also inaugurated Sabon Gari Local Government pilgrims Enlightenment Hall, Gambo Sawaba Secretariat Dogarawa.
Bamalli said training and enlightenment were very necessary because they would guide prospective pilgrims on how to perform the Hajj without hitches.
He said pilgrims must show more interest in the training and be enlightened to know how to perform the Hajj.
He called on them to avoid anything that would dent their image and that of the country.
He advised them to check their passports to be sure they correspond with their other travel documents.
He tasked them to take this training and enlightenment programme very seriously.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Yusuf Arrigasiyyu, said the program was to make them understand how to perform Hajj easily.
He said in February, they organized a committee to find out competent facilitators that would educate the pilgrims through the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He commended the Council Chairman of Sabon Gari LG, Mr. Ibrahim Usman, for building the new pilgrim’s hall.
He added that the agency had been allocated 5,982 Hajj seats for Kaduna state pilgrims by the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON).
