Santuscom Agro Investment Company Limited and Santuscom Fertiliser have unveiled an organo-mineral fertilizer aimed at improving crop yields, enhancing soil fertility, and supporting food security in Nigeria.
The company announced on Monday that the product was developed to promote sustainable agriculture and boost farmers’ productivity across the country.
Mr. Ofana Santus, CEO of the organization, said the fertilizer would significantly contribute to agricultural development in Cross River State and the South-South region.
Known as “Mr. Ogoja Rice,” Santus stated that the product was designed to improve nutrient efficiency, support healthy plant growth, and increase crops’ resilience to adverse weather conditions.
“The introduction of Santuscom Organo-Mineral Fertilizer marks a major step toward addressing the challenges of poor harvests and declining soil fertility faced by many farmers.
“The product has been carefully developed to provide balanced nutrition for crops while improving soil health for sustainable production.
“It combines the benefits of organic and mineral nutrients, offering an effective solution for farmers seeking higher productivity and better crop quality,” he said.
He explained that the fertilizer would help farmers reduce production costs by improving nutrient retention in the soil and decreasing the need for excessive fertilizer application.
Additionally, the product would enhance water retention, helping crops better withstand drought and irregular rainfall.
Santus noted that the launch of the fertilizer would strengthen efforts toward sustainable agriculture, increase farmers’ incomes, and support Nigeria’s goal of food self-sufficiency.
