With less than a month to stay in office, Cross River State governor, Prof Ben Ayade, has approved the lifting of the embargo on promotions for civil and public servants in the state.
The government stated this in a statement issued by the state’s Head of Service, Timothy Akwaji, and made available to newsmen.
The statement noted that “the embargo on promotions in the state has been lifted from 2016 to 2023.
“It is anticipated that the gesture will spur staff to enhance productivity in the state civil and public service,” part of the circular read.
The statement, which added that the approval is with immediate effect, urged MDAs responsible for staff promotions to comply with the content of the circular forthwith.
