Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to embrace natural foods instead of highly processed foods to promote healthy living and reduce the risk of lifestyle-related diseases.
Soludo made the call on Monday while speaking with newsmen during a maize harvest from her farm at the Government House in Awka.
She noted that local fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, roots and tubers contain essential nutrients needed to keep the body healthy and strong.

“Returning to nature is one of the greatest gifts people can give their bodies because natural foods help strengthen immunity, improve digestion, maintain healthy body weight and provide energy for daily activities.
“Choosing wholesome foods over highly processed alternatives contributes significantly to better health outcomes and overall well-being,” she said.
The governor’s wife said healthy eating does not require expensive meals or strict dieting but rather consistent, wise food choices.
She urged Nigerians to embrace the goodness of nature by engaging in backyard farming and filling their plates with wholesome foods.
According to her, every healthy meal is an investment in a longer, stronger and happier life.
