Biden, 77, defeated the Republican incumbent, Donald Trump, by securing 273 electoral college votes against Trump’s 214, after four grueling days of vote count that kept Americans on edge. Former United States vice president, Joe Biden on Saturday, won the presidential election after clinching the 20 electoral ollege votes from Pennsylvania, the Cable Network News, CNN, has projected. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced the intention of the United States government, subject to Congressional approval, to grant US$20 million to the World Food Programme (WFP), to purchase wheat for the people of Sudan which will help to alleviate the shortage of the cereal grain in the country. A press release by USAID, published in Khartoum on Saturday, said the funding will enable the WFP to procure approximately 65,600 metric tons of wheat for Sudan. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says Thursday’s fire incident at OVH Energy tank farm at Marine Beach, Ijora area of Lagos State has been brought under control. Mr Paul Osu, Head, Public Affairs, DPR confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the deployment of legitimate force to protect lives and property of citizens, including police officers. A tanker loaded with 45,000 litres of petrol exploded on Saturday at World Oil Filling Station after Kara Bridge along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, claiming two lives and destroying 23 vehicles. The fallen tanker resulted in fire explosion, following the trail of the spilled petrol which affected 23 other vehicles parked close to the scene. Dangote Cement Plc on Saturday posted a revenue of N761.4 billion in nine months ending September 30, 2020, indicating a 12 percent increase over revenues for the corresponding period in 2019, according to a  statement by Mr Michel Puchercos, Group Chief Executive Officer, Dangote cement.
