A local office of global pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc. is expected to submit an application for the approval of its COVID-19 vaccine to South Korea’s drug safety agency, industry sources said on Thursday. The company is planning to submit the application to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety before the end of this month, they said. Osun government has again imposed curfew as a result of the resurgence of COVID-19 and directed civil servants below grade level 12 to work from home effective from January 25, to minimise the spread of the virus in the state. The federal government, states and local government councils (LGCs) have shared N619.343 billion as federation allocation for December, 2020. The Director of Information, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mr Hassan Dodo announced this on Wednesday in Abuja. Dodo said the allocation was released after a virtual conference of the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC). The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1,386 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 114,691. The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Wednesday. Nigeria has so far tested 1,198,758 people since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded on Feb. 27, 2020. Beneficiaries of the N-Power initiative who have concluded the two-year job programme will now be able to access permanent job opportunities or business prospects in line with the N-power exit strategy now activated by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
