The project has proved to be beneficial to farmers with 91% of farmers reporting substantial increases in crop yields by incorporating regenerative agriculture practices.

Agriculture, mining, and hydroelectric power generation are key pillars of its economy. Government initiatives to enhance infrastructure and attract private investments are crucial for driving Niger State’s economic growth.
“Africa boasts a young and energetic population, and with the right resources and support, they can be the engine propelling the continent’s agricultural transformation,” said AGRA Rwanda Country Director, Jean-Paul Ndagijimana.
The project is part of a broader programme for the Djibouti-Ethiopia Corridor: ‘Promoting regional economic integration in the Horn of Africa through the development of the Djibouti Corridor’, also funded by the European Union (EU) through the Agence Française de Développement (AfD).
The Fourth Estate is the only project from Ghana, and one of five projects from four African countries (Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe) to have made the shortlist.
Applications will be received from May 13th to July 2nd, 2024, with 80 top applicants from eight focus countries – Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda – joining the highly competitive and selective programme.
