For many people, the past few months have been a difficult and demanding one. The high cost of goods and services has made it difficult for most of us to afford food, shelter, clothing and healthcare. The rate of insecurity and other social vices is increasing. It appears that a lot of the things we depended on are no longer reliable. The very fundamentals of life tremble. Here we are, and maybe we’re wondering where we’re going. Don’t despair!
August is here! A month that will give us ‘inspiring reverence or admiration, of supreme dignity or grandeur, and majestic consecration’. Isaiah 55:10-11 says, “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry….” God is faithful to His Words. Neither before the time of Joshua nor after, nor now, has any of God’s good promises failed.
Occasionally, there are moments when we feel like God has failed us. It is important to remember that during times of desperation and grief, we may not be able to perceive God’s good and gracious purpose from our current perspective. We need to trust in God’s promises and believe that He knows what’s best for us during this challenging time.
When you feel faithless, when you believe that God has abandoned you, take refuge in the Word of God, which has withstood the test of time. What God wants for our lives is always better than the purposes and dreams we could envision for ourselves. No matter how good our own plans are, God wants to bring us to greater things.
Be encouraged by the lyrics of the B.B. McKinny Hymn. “Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely. He sees and knows all the way you have trod; Never alone are the least of His children. Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered. Your earnest plea He will never forget. Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient. Have faith in God, He’ll answer yet. Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow, His heart is touched with your grief and despair”.
“Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him. And leave them there, oh, leave them there. Have faith in God though all else fails about you. Have faith in God, He provides for His own. He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish. He rules, He reigns upon His throne. Have faith in God, He’s on His throne. Have faith in God, He watches o’er His own. He cannot fail, He must prevail. Have faith in God, have faith in God”.
You are the top priority of God! He is working out His purpose for you. Happy New Month! God is with us!
