Moniepoint Inc. on Thursday commenced the second cohort of its DreamDevs bootcamp, targeting 20 engineering graduates for industry-ready roles.

During the launch in Lagos, the Chief Technology Officer of Moniepoint, Mr Felix Ike, said the initiative is designed to position African tech talent for global competitiveness.

Ike said the programme will not only equip participants with relevant technical skills but also create pathways to full-time employment for outstanding performers.

According to him, DreamDevs focuses on developing engineers with strong problem-solving abilities capable of contributing to large-scale systems.

He said the programme builds on the success of its first cohort and underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening Africa’s digital workforce.

According to Ike, the initiative followed a rigorous selection process that attracted over 9,000 applications nationwide after a call for entries in January.

He added that the nine-week intensive training is designed to bridge the continent’s tech talent gap by equipping participants with practical, industry-relevant experience.

According to the company, participants emerged through a multi-stage screening process, including an online technical assessment and a physical coding challenge.

The firm said the bootcamp, delivered in partnership with Semicolon Africa, will focus on core engineering competencies and problem-solving.

Moniepoint noted that the initiative aligns with its broader goal of driving financial inclusion and supporting Africa’s digital economy through talent development.

A participant at the event, Wisdom Iyamu, expressed excitement about being selected in what he described as a highly competitive programme.

He said he looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in building scalable products.
