ASHENEWS reports that the Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero has said that his recent victory at the Supreme Court had already settled the intra-party squabbles that rocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi state.
He also described the apex court’s verdict that affirmed him as the party’s candidate for Kebbi Central Senatorial District as a victory to democracy and the rule of law.
Aliero stated this during an interview with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
According to him, “Despite the intra-party deference that took us to court, the Supreme Court judgement has united us and the PDP in Kebbi state remains an indivisible because all the gray areas have been resolved.
“Our focus now is to win elections scheduled for this and next month. The hardships Nigerians are going through as a result of APC misrule are mind touching and unacceptable in the 21st century.
“When voted into power PDP will restore the past glory of our nation, alleviate poverty amongst the people, dismantle security challenges and strengthen democratic values,” he said.
Aliero therefore called on PDP supporters in the state to distance themselves from political and electoral violence because, according to him, “such actions were capable of destroying the image of the party already cruising to victory.”
Senator Aliero alleged that several plans have been hatched by other political parties in the name of employment, warning the party faithful not to part with their PVCs while collecting the palliatives as doing so will dangerously disenfranchise them.
He said that with the track records of his achievements as a former governor and a serving Senator, he will sweep the polls come February 25.
