The Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised the traders and general public in the state to beware of the antics of political thugs.
A statement by the spokesperson of the party, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
According to the PDP, in its campaign which it has so far covered 13 local government areas for the 2023 general elections, no major incident was recorded.
“However, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state begins its campaigns across the state, we advise traders and general public to take good care of their goods.
“The APC has fixed its campaigns on market days and we are all aware of how they use thugs during their events, especially campaigns.
“We urge traders and general public to guard their wares religiously to avoid losing them to the hungry thugs.
“We also call on security agencies to help protect Sokoto traders and general public against possible attack by the thugs on traders,” the statement reads.
