Sokoto state governor and the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council, Aminu Tambuwal has assured that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar will reopen the nation’s borders.
He also said that Atiku will tackle the problem of insecurity if elected as president in 2023.
ASHENEWS reports that Tambuwal stated this while addressing party supporters at its campaign rally in Illela local government area of the state on Saturday.
“If you vote Atiku Abubakar as the next president of Nigeria, he will reopen the nation’s borders while taking proper measures against smuggling; he will also address the challenges of insecurity as well as provide Nigerians with basic necessities of life” he said.
Tambuwal expressed sympathy for the people of Illela as one of those communities worst hit by bandit attacks.
“Sokoto state is bedeviled by the activities of banditry and Illela is one of those areas worst hit by bandits attacks. We shall do everything within our powers to protect lives and property,” the governor said.
On recorded achievements, he said in spite of challenges of insecurity, economic recession and the negative impact of COVID-19, the government had performed in the area of healthcare, education, water supply and social interventions.
The Director General of Sokoto Campaign Management Council, Yusuf Sulaiman said the best party that would serve the people is the PDP.
He therefore asked the people of the area to elect continuity in governance by casting their votes for the party.
The governorship candidate, Sa’idu Umar said if elected, his administration will see to fruition the international market project at Illela.
He promised to sustain the legacies of Tambuwal and initiate more developmental project, if elected.
The Deputy Governor who is also the Sokoto North Senatorial candidate of the party, Mannir Dan’iya called on the people of the state to reciprocate the gesture by voting for PDP, adding that many developmental projects had been planned for Kware LGA in the 2023 budget.
