… Sokoto governor playing politics of inclusivity – Uzodinma
ASHENEWS reports that the Sokoto state governor, Ahmed Aliyu has named renamed Bungudu road after his Imo state counterpart as “Sen. Hope Uzodinma Road”.
The governor was in Sokoto to inaugurate the Bungudu and Kamba roads on Tuesday.
According to Aliyu, the rehabilitation of the roads, done at the cost of N363 million, is in fulfilment of his campaign promise to the traders in the area.
“When we came here to campaign, we promised that we will rehabilitate these roads within our 100 days in office.
“These and many other roads had been neglected by the immediate past administration, in spite of their economic value.
“It is our belief that we should reciprocate the support that these traders gave us.
“It is my honour and privilege to name this Bungudu road after one of our renowned political figure, “Sen. Hope Uzodinma Street”, the governor said.
Speaking, Uzodinma stated that Aliyu is playing politics of inclusivity.
ASHENEWS further reports that the Roads are densely populated by Igbo spare parts dealers in the Sokoto metropolis.
“With the rehabilitation of Bungudu and Kamba roads where the Igbo people are trading, my brother, the governor of Sokoto is playing the politics of inclusivity, and this is the way to go in Nigerian politics,” he said.
He called on all Nigerians to join the national movement, which, according to him, had come to salvage the citizens.
