A former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has asked President Bola Tinubu to probe the activities of the Nigeria Customs Service in the last years.
Sani made the call on his Twitter handle @ShehuSani while commending the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the new Comptroller General of Customs.
According to him, Adeniyi’s appointment has ended the practice where one region had held fort to the position.
“The appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the new Acting Comptroller is a welcome development.
“It has finally put an end to the regionalisation of the headship of the Agency.
“The next step is the comprehensive probe of the way the agency was operated in the last eight years,” the tweet reads.
