The African Development Bank (AfDB) says Sokoto state will benefit from the $20 billion Desert-to-Power initiative intended to provide on-grid and off-grid power to parts of the sub-Saharan Africa. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Friday, launched the first phase of the extra-heavy crude refinery in the southern island of Qeshm, the Iranian Student News Agency, ISNA, has reported. The complex, which was Iran’s first extra-heavy crude refinery, would promote the export of by-products of crude refinements, such as bitumen, said the report.
