Nine months after the world’s first malaria vaccine was recommended for use, the international vaccine alliance, Gavi has invited African countries to apply for financial support to roll out the jab, particularly targeting its young children. A fuel tanker on Tuesday, exploded at Mile 2 of Otto Wharf in Lagos state. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) in a statement by the spokesperson, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency reacted to distress calls by activating its response plan. “Upon arrival at the scene by the agency response team, a fire outbreak from a fuel tanker and drums was encountered. “Emergency responders are currently battling the inferno to contain it. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu to resolve the lingering strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other university-based unions within two weeks.
