A northern movie producers association, known as Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria, MOPPAN, has suspended an ace actress, Rahama Sadau. A statement by the association claimed that the picture, which she posted on her social media platforms, had resulted to blasphemous comments against Islam on Twitter and other social media handles, gwg.ng reports. Sadau’s picture, which depicts her bare back, has generated controversy. Recall that the popular actress was suspended in October 2016 for similar alleged misconduct. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Tanko Muhammad on Friday swore in eight new Justices of the Supreme Court. With the oath taking and oath of allegiance to Nigeria’s constitution by the newly elevated Justices, the number of Supreme Court Justices has now risen to 20 from 12. Those sworn in are Justices Lawal Garba from North West; Helen Ogunwumiju, South West; Abdu Aboki, North West; and M. M. Saulawa, North West. Others are Justices Adamu Jauro, North East; Samuel Oseji, South South; Tijani Abubakar, North East and Emmanuel Agim, South South.
A two-day first-in-Africa drive-through exhibition of arts and crafts is on-going in Abuja. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that former Governor Rashidi Ladoja was impeached and removed as governor of Oyo State for being ungrateful to Chief Lamidi Adedibu and Chief Yekinni Adeojo.
