The United Nations (UN’s ) Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) have provided 2.5 million dollars for the implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programmes in six states. The states are Ekiti, Ebonyi, Oyo, Kwara, Kogi and Plateau states for two years. “The grant is premise on the 2019 Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) NORM survey which revealed that the six states were at the lowest ebb of access to water and sanitation, with the highest number of people still practicing open defecation’’. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Wednesday presented a 2021 budget proposal of N169.8 billion to the State Assembly. Ugwuanyi said that the 2021 budget estimate was 13 per cent higher than the 2020 revised budget of N169.5 billion. The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to order suspension and activation of new SIM cards.
