Former governor of Sokoto, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa on Sunday condoled his Successor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko on the death of his nephew, Dr Bello Wamakko. Ogun state government, has suspended the Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun for alleged sexual harassment of an underaged girl. The suspension of the Commissioner, who was alleged to have sexually harassed a 16-year- old Barakat Melojuekun, will last until the conclusion of an independent investigation of the allegation. The Defence Headquarters says the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole has knocked down more terrorists’ hideouts, killing scores in two locations in Borno. The Nigerian government says the country’s deaths from COVID-19 now stands at 1,304, even as the Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) reported 576 new infections on Saturday.  The country has so far tested 952,975  persons since the first confirmed case of the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on February 27, 2020. It said that the total number of infections in the country is now 89,163. A group of 11 Republican senators and senators-elect on Saturday said that they intend to appeal the upcoming certification of the results of the presidential election. Nigerian government has placed travel restrictions on 100 passengers, for non-compliance with mandatory protocol on tests upon arrival as outlined by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19. The Chairman of the PTF on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this in a notice to the affected passengers on Saturday. The Finnish Medicines Agency says it has received the first report of an adverse reaction to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against coronavirus. This is coming one week after Europe started its mass immunisation campaign.
