A clash between the operatives of Oyo State Amotekun and some herdsmen on Saturday, claimed lives of three persons and two others injured at Aiyete in Ibarapa North local government area of the state. The clash was said to have started at Okebi village on Saturday morning but the cause of the clash could not be ascertained immediately. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has disclosed that, added to the requirement for the National Identification Number, NIN, for the renewal of Driver’s License, the same will be required for the renewal of vehicle registration by the second quarter of 2021. The Federal High Court Abuja, has dismissed the alleged certificate forgery case filed by the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and one of its chieftains, Mr Williams Edobor, against Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo. Delivering judgment in the suit on Saturday, Justice Ahmed Mohammed held that the plaintiffs failed to discharge the burden of proof placed on them, having failed to provide credible evidence to prove their case. Rivers State Executive Council has approved the construction of a new House of Assembly quarters in Port Harcourt at the cost of N10.1 billion. The new legislative quarters, expected to provide global standard accommodation for the legislators, is expected to be completed within 16 months. Tunisian Health Ministry on Friday night reported 2,649 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections to 154,903. The death toll from the virus rose by 56 to 5,108 in the North African country.
