The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported  1,244 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 101,331. The NCDC disclosed this on its official website late Monday. The agency also confirmed additional three coronavirus-related deaths in the country in the past 24 hours. As cases of coronavirus rise higher on daily basis, Nigerian government has said that the January 18, 2021 date earlier slated for schools resumption, might not be visible if the nation’s COVID-19 indicators continue to grow. Nigeria’s Security Services, DSS, says it has uncovered plans to incite religious violence in some states across the country. The Nigerian government has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  with Mota- Engil Group for the construction of $1.959 billion Kano-Maradi Standard Gauge Railway lines. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, in a statement by Eric Ojiekwe, Director Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, said the project was aimed at linking the whole country by rail. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will work with security agencies to prosecute any institution or candidate, found breaching its admission’s code of operations. The board, in its latest Weekly Bulletin announced on Monday in Abuja that that henceforth, stringent measures, including prosecution, would be taken against erring candidate or institution once a prima facie case has been established against them.
