The Attorney-General of Ekiti state, Mr Olawale Fapohunda has sued the Inspector General of Police, IGP, for a court to declare Section 127 of the Police Act and Regulations as unconstitutional. Sen. Kabiru Gaya has assured that Nigerians in the Diaspora would be able to vote from their countries of residence during elections, once the Constitution was amended. Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger has appointed Ahmed Gunna, as the Acting Chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded six more deaths and 1,588 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 139,242. Since the pandemic emerged in the country, number of tests conducted has increased while testing and reporting techniques have improved, leading to a rise in reported cases. However, the number of diagnosed cases is only a part of the real total number of infections as a significant number of less serious or asymptomatic cases always remain undetected.
