In fulfilling the socio-economic potential of agriculture in Nigeria, innovation is key.

Innovation can provide an opportunity to increase productivity in agriculture, which will ensure the long-term viability and growth of the sector. Agriculture is a very important component of any nation.

In Nigeria, the food sector is undergoing a huge revolution from the side of the government and international organizations. Government representatives, agencies, individuals, and groups

One of these revolutions is the first of its kind and the median edition of the Agrivest Reality TV show, where innovative agripreneurs, agribusiness owners, innovators, and practitioners will compete for the grand prize of ₦20 million.

The Agrivest reality TV show is not just a TV show; it is a movement that aims to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of agroentrepreneurs.

The objective of the show is deeply rooted in driving positive change within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

The organizers say that the show is an extraordinary and transformative entertainment TV reality show dedicated to empowering and showcasing young agroentrepreneurs between the ages of 21 and 29.

Agrivest reality TV show overview includes: changing perceptions, skill enhancement, access to resources, promoting gender equality, climate resilience, market linkages, and policy advocacy.

While the reasons (the whys) are: nurturing economic flourish, enlightening education beyond boundaries, pioneering solutions for societal shifts, nurturing tomorrow’s leaders, bridging entertainment and impact, and catapulting agribusiness.

The show began with the official unveiling of the Agrivest reality TV challenge show and logo on August 30, 2023, at the Abuja Continental Hotel Ladi Kwali Hall, FCT Abuja, Nigeria.

It was hosted in collaboration with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, which had dignitaries from all around the country, and upon its unveiling on August 30, 2023, registration for the reality show was open to the general public.

The format of the registration was for interested participants to record a 1-minute video explaining why they should be in the house, upload the video to Agrivest social media accounts, tag @agrivestreality using #farmmoney and #agrivestrealitytvshow, make sure they are following on all social media handles, and share the content via Agrivest handle DM.

Qualify candidates were selected and invited for an audition at the country’s federal capital territory, Abuja, to present and impress the judges and secure a spot amongst the top contenders for the Agrivest Reality TV show at the Shehu Yar’adua Conference Center Abuja.

The show has so far featured elite personalities in the movie industry, like Sani Danja, who doubles as the Agrivest reality TV show brand ambassador for Kannywood, and Yul Edochie of Nollywood.

The show started with 40 smart farmers, and there are presently 38 housemates present at the show, and they have been divided into groups as they participate in rewarding activities like life sports, quizzes, and more.

While individuals are assessed on different grounds, such as performance and conduct, each week an assessment is done and eviction is done to reduce the number of people in the house. The show is to last for 40 nights.

Viewers on all platforms are observant to see who the winner will be; others are optimistic that this show will be a new turnover for the Nigerian agricultural sector; and some are anxious if this innovation can and will be sustained for the good of the Nigerian public.

Is the Agrivest Reality TV Show 2023 a dawn of new strides in agribusiness in Nigeria or not?
