ASHENEWS reports that the Commander 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed has urged journalists to prioritize national interest against all other motives in the course of their work.

Ahmed stated this when he hosted members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Zamfara State chapter.

Ahmed, who stressed the need for journalists to use their profession to support military operations to restore normalcy in the state, maintained that journalists have a vital role to play in the fight against terrorism and to end all forms of criminality in the state and the country as a whole.

The Army commander lauded journalists in the state for supporting the Nigerian Army by disseminating information on its activities.

He added that the Nigerian Army has intensified operations in many parts of the state, the result of which has translated to a bumper harvest.

He assured that its personnel would continue conducting harvest and farm patrol until farmers harvest their produce.

On his part, the leader of the delegation and  Chairman of the Union, Ibrahim Musa Maizare lauded the Nigerian Army for its tireless efforts at tackling insecurity in the state.
