Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto has dissociated himself from social media reports that he has intention to contest presidential election in 2023.
In a terse statement by his spokesperson, Muhammad Bello and mailed to ASHENEWSONLINE on Thursday, the governor said that he has not declared any intention to contest for President as reported by some social media outfits.
“For the avoidance of doubt, nothing can be further from the truth than this. Governor Tambuwal has not declared his political intention in recent times, so the news about his running for the highest political office is a figment of the imagination of some overzealous social media activists.
“For this reason, the governor dissociates himself from such fabricated misinformation and misleading reportage.
“The governor posits that his focus now is on delivering good governance and the dividends of democracy to the people of Sokoto State,” the statement reads.
