ASHENEWS reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Abdussamad Dasuki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the Kebbe/Tanbuwal Federal Constituency seat.
ASHENEWS recalls that the INEC declared the February 25 National Assembly elections in Sokoto state inconclusive, and fixed April 15 for the supplementary elections.
Declaring the results of the supplementary elections, the Returning Officer of Kebbe/Tambuwal federal constituency, Prof. Abubakar Muhammad, said Dasuki polled 47,317 votes to beat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bala Kokani Kebbe, who scored 34,282 votes.
“Dasuki Abdussamad of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner of the election, and returned elected,” Prof. Muhammad stated
