ASHENEWS reports that the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero has described the results of the Governorship elections conducted in the state as evidence of the acceptance of democracy by the electorates.

The monarch stated this in a statement issued by Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Kano Emirate Council.

According to the statement, “the people have accepted the democratic system of government, which is very important looking at how they came out en masse to cast their votes as provided by the constitution, “

The monarch, while felicitating with the Governor-elect, urged him to be committed to the welfare of the people.

This is as he commended religious and traditional rulers for their support and prayers towards the success of the elections in the state.

“He further wished for lasting peace and stability in Kano state as well as other parts of the country.

“He prayed for Almighty Allah for the successful completion of his tenure as well as the development of his government and the development of the economy of Kano state, ” the statement said.
