This online platform further reports that the bales of the fabric, allegedly belonging to a principal officer of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, were intercepted by the EFCC operatives who were deployed to monitor the elections in the state.

The items have been moved to the Sokoto Zonal Command of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Similarly, the operatives in Argungu local government area of Kebbi state, also intercepted a suspect with a vehicle fully loaded with fabrics and other items suspected to be meant for voter inducement.

According to report, the suspect was handed to the Police Area Command at Argungu, for safe keeping alongside the vehicle and the items.

In Kaduna, while a suspect was nabbed for his alleged involvement in vote-buying at School Road, Unguwan Rimi Kaduna, an EFCC team led by ACE II Esmond Garba, arrested one Buhari Muhammed at PU 002 Dogara Yaro Dagari area with voter coupons, which he confessed was to be used to trace and pay those who voted for his party.

In the same vein, the EFCC team which monitored the voting exercise around LEA Kabala Doki, in Kaduna led by CSE Wakilu Omokida, arrested two individuals suspected of vote buying.

The operatives recovered N67, 500 with a list of voters’ names, their PVC  numbers and bank account details amongst others on the duo.
