ASHENEWS reports that a former candidate for the governorship of Niger State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Nasko has announced his resignation from the PDP.
Nasko disclosed this in a brief message he posted on his official Instagram handle on Wednesday night.
“I have decided to resign my membership of the PDP. Im grateful to the party for the opportunities it available it availed me. Umar Nasko, ” the post read.
ASHENEWS recalls that Nasko contested alongside Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in the 2015 general elections shortly after he resigned as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Niger State, Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
He eventually emerged as the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), by defeating the then-incumbent deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto, and others in the primaries.
