The Acting Chief Judge of Ekiti, Justice John Adeyeye, has commended members of Ekiti House of Assembly for the quick passage of Ekiti State Judiciary Fund Management Bill 2021.
The CJ gave the commendation when the House Committee on Judiciary, led by its Chairman, Mr Tajudeen Akingbolu, (APC-Ekiti West 1) paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Adeyeye, who appreciated the committee for their visit describing it as timely, noted that the relationship between the House and judiciary should be symbiotic.
Speaking earlier, Akingbolu congratulated Adeyeye on his recent appointment, and prayed for his confirmation as the substantive Chief Judges of Ekiti State in no distance time.
Akingbolu said that the visit was necessitated, as partner in progress to create an avenue where the judiciary and Ekiti State House of Assembly can synergize to move the state forward.
He said that the Ekiti State Judiciary (Fund Management) bill 2021 sent to the house was given accelerated hearing and has been passed into law, only awaiting the governors’ assent.
He reiterated the importance of the bill which was expeditiously passed into law to meet the forty-five days deadline agreement between National Judicial Council and Conference on Nigerian Attorney Generals.
He promised that the house is always ready to join hands with judiciary on issues of common goal, anytime the need arises.
Other members of the house committee on Judiciary on the visit are: Bode Adeoye Oyekola, (Ekiti West 2), Aribasoye Stephen, (Ikole 1), Femi Akindele, (Irepodun/Ifelodun 1) and the Clerk of the House, Mr Fasoro Ganiyu.
With the Acting Chief Judge to receive the house committee are: Chief Registrar, Johnson Apuabi Esq., Adesoji Adegboye Esq., Deputy Chief Registrar 1 and C. Adegoke Esq., Deputy Chief Registrar 2.
