The public offer involves 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 each and is expected to raise about ₦2.15 trillion if fully subscribed. Reuters reported that the offer is aimed largely at retail investors and is expected to be Africa’s largest-ever initial public offering.
The offer is expected to run from September 14 to October 13, 2026, although the official Dangote IPO website currently lists the opening and closing dates as “to be confirmed.”
Dangote Refinery is seeking the capital as part of plans to expand its refining capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day. The company has announced a $14.3 billion expansion programme, while the refinery reported a $1.82 billion profit in the first half of 2026.
The company has also warned prospective investors to guard against fraud. It said legitimate subscription channels will never request a customer’s PIN, password or OTP, and investors should not pay money into personal bank accounts or individual mobile wallets.
The official IPO website further advises investors to read the prospectus and use only the approved channels when subscriptions formally open.
