The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) treated two women who were injured during Saturday’s flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Kaduna.
The women were injured amid the large crowd at Kaduna Township Stadium, also known as Ranchers Bees Stadium.
One sustained a leg fracture and received first aid from NEMA’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) before being taken to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital for further treatment.
The second woman sustained a minor injury. She was treated at the venue and continued participating in the event.
The ERT, led by Head of Operations Halima Sulaiman, was supported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other emergency response stakeholders deployed to the venue.
The deployment aimed to ensure preparedness and a prompt response to medical incidents during the gathering.
The intervention highlighted NEMA’s role in providing emergency assistance and protecting lives at major public events.
